Privacy Policy
TuneGen · Last updated August 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how TuneGen ("TuneGen", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the TuneGen mobile app (the "App"). By using the App you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you first use the App we automatically create an anonymous account for you, consisting only of a randomly generated account identifier — no name or email address is collected at that point. If you later choose to complete your profile by signing in with Apple or Google (which protects your songs and credits and lets you use them across devices), we additionally receive a unique account identifier from that provider and, where you allow it, your name and email address. If you use Sign in with Apple's private email relay, we only receive the relay address.
- Screenshots you choose, and the text within them. When you select conversation screenshots to create a song, those images are sent to Google's generative AI (Vertex AI / Gemini) to transcribe the conversation. Images are only accessed after you pick them through your device's photo picker — we do not scan your photo library. The screenshots are used only to transcribe the chat and are not stored on our servers; the transcribed conversation text is then sent to the music engine you select — ElevenLabs, MiniMax (via the fal.ai platform), or Suno (via the sunoapi.org platform) — to compose the song and is stored with the resulting song so you can play it back with synced lyrics. When you select MiniMax or Suno, the generated audio and the song's lyrics are additionally sent to ElevenLabs to compute the lyric timing used for synced playback.
- Conversation text you type or paste. Instead of screenshots, you can type or paste a conversation directly. That text is sent to Google's generative AI (Vertex AI / Gemini) to structure it into song lyrics, then to the music engine you select — ElevenLabs, MiniMax (via the fal.ai platform), or Suno (via the sunoapi.org platform) — to compose the song, and it is stored with the resulting song the same way transcribed screenshot text is.
- Karaoke videos you record. You can screen-record a song's karaoke view into a video. The recording is created entirely on your device and saved to your device's photo library (with your permission) — it is never uploaded to us or to anyone else unless you choose to share it.
- Generated songs. The audio track we create for you, and the transcribed message text used to build it, are stored in your account so you can play, download, and share them until you delete them.
- Purchases and subscriptions. Credit purchases and TuneGen Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple (and, on Android, Google Play) and managed through RevenueCat. We receive a record of which credit pack you bought, your credit balance, and — if you subscribe — your subscription status, plan, and renewal date; we never receive your full payment card details.
- Technical and log data. We do not use analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting tools. Our infrastructure providers (such as Google Firebase / Google Cloud) automatically process standard technical information — for example your IP address and basic app and device details — as needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the App.
- Fraud-prevention identifiers. To make sure the one-time free welcome credits are only granted once, we collect a device identifier (on iOS, Apple's app-vendor identifier) when your account is created or signed in, and we store one-way cryptographic hashes of that identifier and of your account email address alongside a record of the grant. We use these hashes only to prevent repeat claims of free credits — for example by deleting and re-creating an account or by creating multiple accounts on one device. They are never used for advertising or to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
How we use information
- To authenticate you and maintain your account.
- To generate songs from the screenshots or conversation text you provide.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the App.
- To respond to your support requests and comply with legal obligations.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that operate our infrastructure and generate your songs. These include Google Firebase (authentication, hosting, database, storage, and cloud functions); Google's generative AI (Vertex AI / Gemini), which reads your chosen screenshots — or the conversation text you type — to produce the song's lyrics; ElevenLabs, which composes the audio track from that text (and, for songs made with the MiniMax or Suno engines, computes the lyric timing from the generated audio and lyrics); MiniMax via the fal.ai platform and Suno via the sunoapi.org platform, each of which composes the audio track when you select that music engine; and RevenueCat with Apple/Google Play, which handle credit purchases and TuneGen Pro subscriptions. These providers may only use the data to provide their services to us and do not use it to train their own models where that option is available to us.
- Legal and safety recipients, where required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the App (in the app menu, choose Delete account). Deleting your account removes your account record and associated data, and revokes the sign-in tokens the App holds. You may also contact us to request deletion of your data.
One exception: after account deletion we retain the one-way hashes described under "Fraud-prevention identifiers" above. They cannot be reversed into your email address or device identifier and are kept solely so the one-time free welcome credits cannot be claimed again by re-creating an account.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
